Last game for The Wild Bohrs -- be there or be square! I can't promise, but I bet they'll party hard afterwards. They're playing the Below Average Joe's. 

We'll find out on Wednesday if Gan is having a movie night.

Interstellar comes out! I will be attempting to go see the midnight premiere, regardless of group meeting. Who has a car and wants to take me?

Akshat will return to co-host DC Animated movie night with me! We will be watching Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. I have not seen it before, so I am very excited. And I hope you are, too!

PGSA Update 10/27/14

If I call these weekly, then I probably won't update enough, so I'm just gonna call them updates. Some guy just sent me this video and it made my weekend. You can just skip to the JGL parts, but I fully enjoyed the whole thing. Also, in these last few stressful days of crunch time, this is for first- and second-years working on the NSF. Although you probably already found it.

NSF proposals due!!! I know this is not relevant to everybody, but let's be honest, neither is the Wednesday event. Btw, this is right, right?? I'm not wrong. About when they're due. Right?


Ok, that's it. Gan will probably have a movie night, but wait for Wednesday. DC Animated Movie nights are every other week. And for those of you who came out to Boltini's last weekend, that was fun, right? Looking forward to more events like that.

Tonight is a special happy hour with the professors of the department.Head out to the Boltini Lounge at 8 pm to hang out with some fellow grads and profs while enjoying the best martinies in town.

I don't see a movie tonight, but I'll be updating tomorrow with some Friday and next Monday activities. For now, I'm gonna go run and get cookies from the colloquium.

Quick Update 10/15/14

Gan's movie night is tonight!!!!! Go see Obvious Child. With Jake Lacy and Jenny Slate, it's basically like Parks and Rec meets The Office, right? 8 PM tonight in the interaction room!!

PGSA Weekly Update 10/14/14

Missed last week's update -- no excuse but here's a new way to peel your bananas. I was going to show you how to peel a hard-boiled egg in a cool way since that's actually what I was working on last week, but now I can't find the video. I guess it's my secret now.

As always, Wednesday is sports day!! And playoffs continue for our heroic Majorana Meatballs as they once again stand off against Huck Huck Goose. Help them climb the championship bracket by coming and cheering them on tomorrow. HUMP DAY!

6:15 to 8:00 at Dexter Field
Plot twist -- this game is at Dexter Field, not Dodds Park. Don't get lost! We'll be playing the Free Agents. As always, we will be defending our honor and fighting off that ever looming Mercy Rule ending. Only two games left in the season (including this one), so if you've never seen me hit a ball with a bat before, well.... it may or may not happen tomorrow night. I will be there, though. If you cheer hard enough, I may also catch a ball.


Annnnnddd.... stay tuned for an update! Which will definitely happen tomorrow. Because Gan will be having a movie night for all you guys who are afraid of the cold but still want to celebrate the 15th of October. Keep workin' on those talents for Physical Revue!

PGSA Weekly Update 10/2/14

Happy October!!! One day late, sorry about that. And one day late on the blog post, but I'm back now, here to update you with activities for the rest of the week.

Mon 10/6
5:15 to 7:30 at the intersection of Florida and Lincoln
It's playoffs!!! For the Frisbee team. Our Majorana Meatballs will be valiantly defending our honor against Marky Mark and the Frisbee Bunch. Come cheer them on to victory!

Wed 10/8
5:15 to 7:30 at the intersection of Florida and Lincoln
Looks like the Majorana Meatballs will be at it again, this time against Huck Huck Goose. We're nearing the end of the frisbee season here so if you ever wanted to show your support (especially while it's still warm out) now is the time!!! Trust your instincts if you have nothing planned for a Wednesday night, you're doing it wrong. That being said...

You may prefer watching the softball team this Wednesday as The Wild Bohrs take a stand against the Esquire Speed Marvels. In case you need convincing, I will be there. It will be awesome.
