Today
2:00 PM in the Interaction Room
Hot chocolate social!! To warm you up before you go out into the great unknown and visit your families. Or stay right here in Central Illinois and brave the cold alone.
Also, I figured out the problem with the Google Calendar. I was updating my own calendar, NOT the PGSA's. I'm gonna go ahead and fix that right now.

PGSA Update 11/19/14
Today!
4:00 PM in 141 Loomis
Physics colloquium today! Presenter today is Dr. Steven Ritz, hailing from sunny and warm UCSC with his talk "Physics from Two Cosmic Surveys: the Fermi Gamma-ray Telescope and the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope." I always forget to post about colloqiums, but today I remembered -- don't forget to come down early for cookies and coffee/tea!
8:00 PM in the Interaction Room
Gan's movie night tonight! They'll be showing Frank, showcasing Michael Fassbender's indomitable acting talents. It also has Maggie Gyllenhaal (who probably makes it to my top 5 female crushes, and I think was a fine Rachel in The Dark Knight).
And that's all I have! Good luck wrapping up what might be a hectic week, and have fun over Thanksgiving break! And in case you're staying on campus for most of next week, don't worry, you're not alone -- I will be here, too, attempting to do work, but most likely just watching movies and working my way though my 500-movie-long Netflix queue. Hit me up if you know me.
Also, I updated the calendar, but for some reason I'm being a dummy about the sidebar, so for now, I highly recommend adding the PGSA movie calendar to your Google calendars. I have updated it with Gan's Movie Nights and Phys. Rev. which is sneaking up on us (Dec. 5th!), so get your video submissions in order!
And thanks to those of you who submitted to the Suggestions link/survey thing. I updated the Officers page, I'll keep you updated on Batman movie nights, and thank you, yes, I think the Suggestions box is a good idea, too :)

PGSA Update 11/12/14
No more frisbee or softball -- though if you see any Wild Bohrs in the hallway, congratulate them on a game well played (winning for the first third of the game until they lost 8 to 24?). We'll get there.
11/12/14
8:00 PM in the Interaction Room
Move night tonight! Gan and Gus will be showing The Signal, of which I've never heard of before. Sounds good, though, it's going on my queue.
11/14/14
6:30 PM in the Interaction Room
Batman: Assault on Arkham is the movie of choice this week! And that's right, we're having one THIS week, even though we already had one last week. Akshat will ACTUALLY be present this time, so come one, come all. As usual, there will be pizza, probably one with pineapple on it this time.

PGSA Update 11/5/14
11/5/14
8:00 PM in the Interaction Room
Gan's movie night tonight! He'll be showing Under the Skin, starring the lovely Scarlett Johansson (always forget if it's a double a, double n, or double s, and if it's son or sen). There will be pizza.
11/6/14
4:00-6:00 PM in the Alice Campbell Alumni Center
November grad student mixer tomorrow! Meet new students! Outside of physics! It's gonna be CRA-zy! As in, there will be refreshments and attendees will have the chance to enter a drawing for one of several gift cards to local eateries and vendors.
Thank you to those of you who have used the Suggestions link on the side to ask for suggestions. By that, I mean thanks to none of you! The only thing in my spreadsheet is the test suggestion I sent to make sure it was working ("blah balh bahld") so either the PGSA is doing everything in your wildest hopes and dreams or you're too timid to ask for it. Or the link's not working. Either way, let me know.
